It's difficult enough to keep up with the rapid changes in the IT world if that's what you do full time, so we understand if you're bewildered by it all. You have a business need but how do you go about choosing the appropriate technology for it? How can you be sure you're choosing something which is future proof? We can explain what's out there, and what it can do for you. We can give you just the guidance, if that's all you want; or we can go ahead and build the whole thing for you.

We like to develop fast-loading, easy-to-use websites, which get the job done. We're not keen on sites which greet you with tedious Flash animations or which insist on playing you music as soon as you get there, so we don't tend to build those.

We're particularly strong on dynamic web sites - i.e., those which build pages on the fly, getting data in real time from databases, say, or from elsewhere on the Internet (see web applications).

We can also build you websites in which you can easily update the content yourself. We use the Silverstripe CMS (Content Management System) for this.

We develop web applications. In the words of Wikipedia, "a web application or webapp is an application that is accessed via web browser over a network such as the Internet or an intranet". If you need to get a web interface on an existing business system, or need something developed from scratch to be accessed within your organisation (i.e., an Intranet) or from the Internet at large, we can oblige.

We specialise in using Open Source technologies, such as Linux and Java, because we believe they're the best way of ensuring secure systems, and getting rapid fixes to any problems which might come up - as well as being free of charge! But we're also happy to work with Microsoft or other proprietary software if we need to - if, for example, your business is already using some particular software.

We have over 20 years experience working with databases. We work with the 4D relational database management system, as well as a number of powerful Open Source alternatives, such as MySQL (although we also have familiarity with other systems such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server). Databases are at the back end of most business systems, and we can design any kind of database-backed business system for you.

We also have a lot of experience of getting systems talking to each other - if you have an existing system which you need to integrate with, we can probably find a way.
